Green Connection Meetings are now on tuesday lunch times

Today we wanted to talk about our goals for this year

Goals:

To get Silver: April will get information off MC about this

Recycling: We are going to start up paper recycling again someone need's
to find out how we can get it taken away for us.

but our main goal for this year is to get a set of rubbish bins out side
the AV rooms next to the canteen for cans paper and plastic etc...

we need a new place for the key and later think of a new system posable
systems:

have 4 or more fixed bins that with a key can be detached, end of lunch or
school a meber from GC takes the to a holding place (boiler room) puts the
recyclables in bigger bins and wheels them back, once a week truck takes
them away......

Aim - to get a GOOD recycling box in every class room

Worm farm: Paeakariki school sell starter worm packs, need a big plastic
containers and a posable place to have the worm farm is next to the

Green House

Out side the foods room, behind the GYM

April or some one to ask Mr Coleman if he could make a container for them.

Green house clean up on work day, talk to the care takers, so we can grow
new plants to do up our school - Tash and dermott on work day 2 more are
allowed

We can have a Red carpet day and MC can cut the ribbon - also good photos
for web site etc...

Green Connection week: Tash to dress up as a frog with Natalie and give
out lollies

we NEED to think of ways to fund raise!!!

We need to cut down the magpie trees and plant new native trees - green
house would be good for this

Efficient ways to save power : not having lights on when they are not
needed

Dermott and Tash to ask Viki if there is a way we could get a FTTP to

Awareness around the school

we need to good to all the form class's (yr9)

have a assembly for green connection for yr 9's

and speak to other yr levels at the yr level assemblies
